Seranit7 mm Wall Tile
Ceramic
wall tiles are products made from clay that is fired at high temperatures. They
are produced by mixing materials such as clay, kaolin, quartz, and feldspar in specific
proportions, then granulated and pressed into shape. The shaped raw tile is called
a “biscuit,” which is fired at temperatures above 1100 °C to turn into a tile.
To ensure better adhesion to walls, these tiles are produced with a porous
structure and have a water absorption rate above 10%.
Ceramic
wall tiles are fired at 1130-1160 °C for 36-45 minutes to form the biscuit. After
glazing, they are fired again at 1120 °C for 36-45 minutes.
These
tiles are always produced with a glazed surface and due to their low density (1.78
gr/cm³), apply less vertical load to structures. They are suitable only for
indoor wall use.
With
a wide range of colors and designs, ceramic wall tiles can be enriched with decorative
elements such as borders and skirting. However, due to their high moisture
expansion and water absorption values, they are not suitable for outdoor use.
Wall
tiles are used in;
·
Commercial
buildings (shopping centers, hotels, offices, banks, restaurants, stores, etc.,
areas with heavy circulation),
· Residential areas
(luxurious houses, villas etc.),
·
Public
buildings (justice halls, municipality buildings, etc.),
·
Education
and cultural buildings (schools, theatres, cultural centers, etc.),
·
Walls
and exterior facades.
