Aluminum is silvery white and light weight material. Aluminum is used for a wide range of applications from small cans to aeroplane parts. Most common applications of aluminum are automobile components, food processing industry, building and construction sector. It is used for structural glazing, glass houses, green buildings, structural buildings, partitions, doors and windows. Aluminum is most reliable and commonly used structural material. Aluminum is preferred due to light weight property. It reduces weight, dead loads and costs. Also, aluminum is corrosion resistant. It generates a thin oxide film that prevent corrosion and protect surface. Aluminum is electrical and thermal conductivity leads to good conducting of heat and electricity. Aluminum is non-toxic, odorless, non-magnetic. It also has good reflectivity and not structural changes in low temperature. Besides, aluminum can be 100% recyclable and a recycled product.
Coating provides extra thickness over aluminum and gives extra protection from corrosion. The raw aluminum from mills is very dull and coatings enhance the appearance and look. Coating can protect from wear and tear. Also, mill finished aluminum has dye marks and coating can hide the dye marks. Coating can increase reflectivity of materials, electrically insulate the materials and hardness of material. Powder coating is one of the most common used coating types. Electrostatic process is used for anodising. The powder-coated aluminum profile is made by the electrostatic coating basis. Electrostatically charged dry powder is sprayed for coating. The dry powder adsorbs on the aluminum profile, after more than 200°C bake temperature, the powder solidifies into a layer of more than 60 microns thick solid bright coating. The aluminum profiles are good decorated and protected by the paint. Powder coated aluminum profiles have been widely used in building doors, windows, curtain walls and other products for many years because of their small specific gravity, easy processing, and high mechanical strength.
Firstly, pre-treatment has done in acid/alkali solutions to remove dirt, grease and impurities. Secondly, powder coating process has done. Dry powder, consists of resin and pigment, is electrostatically charged in a gun and sprayed to the aluminum section. The powder gets attracted to the metal, then sprayed object is heated in an oven. Subsequently, dry powder fuses, melts and form a coating over the surface.
Powder coating aluminum profiles can match any building color scheme and have unlimited color choics. Furthermore, powder coating can have done on any surfaces such as steel, aluminum, wood and composite materials. Also, it can be easily dented and repainted as well as the product maintains same color and texture after that.
