This EPD is an average EPD representative for the manufacturer's structural steel profiles. There are sixteen different products under this category, as shown in the figures below.
The only input material for these products is steel billet. In addition, manufacturing related processes are very similar between the investigated products. Thus, they are grouped under a single EPD. Steel billets used in the manufacturing of the investigated products are produced 100% through Basic oxygen furnace (BOF) route.
Structural steel profiles meet the high impact resistance and strength demanded by -60 C cold climatic conditions in the global market with our alloy steel qualities. As a result of our flexible production infrastructure, we're able to produce special sections and thicknesses for all kinds of customer needs. In addition, we offer our products to our customers at low delivery times. With our equal angle products, we are the most important supplier for Energy Transmission Line Projects.

Operating in a total area of 280,000 square meters, including 85,000 square meters of closed space, Kocaer Steel is one of Turkey's largest companies in the steel profile segment, with a total capacity of 800,000 tons/year. In addition to its 3 steel profile factories, the company also provides services with a 120,000 tons/year capacity Steel Service Center and a 100,000 tons/year capacity hot-dip Galvanizing Plant, which is a unique facility in terms of integration and LEED certification.

In 2023, Kocaer Steel initiated seismic and magnetotelluric (MT) surveys as part of feasibility studies for a 24 MW Geothermal Energy Plant (GPP) investment, equivalent to approximately 120 MW of solar energy, in Aydın Kuyucak. To undertake these activities, the company established a new corporate structure called Kocaer Enerji, which is 99% owned by Kocaer Steel and is dedicated to renewable energy, primarily geothermal energy.
