Bath and shower
mixers consist of a metal housing, mostly made of brass, a plastic valve with
ceramic discs, and several assembly parts of various materials. The faucet
surface is usually chrome-plated using various galvanic process stages. Other
coating techniques are applied for different color options such as PVD and wet
coating, against corrosion.
Bath and shower mixers are operated mechanically by handle. The cartridge mechanism enables adjusting water temperature and flow with one handle. In bath mixers, there are two water outlets. An embodied diverter enables water to run two of the following outlets: bath spout, showerhead, water jets, and hand shower via hand shower outlet. Shower mixers only have one water outlet.
